The second Singapore Garden Festival opened to the public on 25 July 2008 at the Suntec International Convention and Exhibition Centre.

The biennial garden and flower festival – the only one of its kind to bring together award-winning garden and floral designers from around the world – has been instrumental in nurturing community ownership for the Garden City by inspiring a greater appreciation for plants and interest in gardening.

Over eight days, the Festival attracted a record 300,000 visitors, surpassing the 200,000 visitorship at the inaugural show in 2006. It also showcased a wider spectrum of nations, with 32 masterpieces by 35 designers from 17 countries.

Singapore Garden Festival 2008 won six awards at the prestigious 53rd International Festivals & Events Association Convention & Expo in USA.
