Car-Free Weekend is back for its fourth year!
Coinciding with the Singapore Heritage Festival, 2019’s first edition of Car-Free Weekend will feature an array of activities for heritage buffs and families alike, taking place on the car-free roads in the Civic District and Telok Ayer conservation area at various timings on 30 and 31 March.
Learn about the ways of life of Singapore’s early immigrants, visit historical landmarks that tell the story of Singapore’s history, growth and development and gain appreciation for the majestic and interesting trees that stood tall for many generations in our series of curated guided walks that are sure to leave you with a newfound appreciation for our history and heritage.
Learn about the ways of life of Singapore’s early immigrants with the Pioneer Trail along Ann Siang Hill and Telok Ayer Green (31 Mar, 10am – 12pm), visit historical landmarks that tell the story of Singapore’s history, growth and development with the Monument Trail (30 Mar, 10am – 11.30am) and gain appreciation for the majestic and interesting trees that stood tall for many generations with the historic Civic District Tree Trail (31 Mar, 9am – 10.30am).

Treat yourself to some light-hearted entertainment for the young and young at heart at Playtime @ The Incubator brought to you by NParks and The Party Elves. Relive the kampung days at the Kampung Station with old school games like hop scotch, five stones, chapteh and more (8am – 12pm), climb, slide, crawl and jump your way through Crazey Mazey, a string maze that’s more than what it seems (8am – 12pm).
See how modern architectural wonders have co-existed with heritage districts and withstood the test of time through photographer Alexander Ow’s eyes in his Urban Legends 2.0: Urban Spaces of Singapore photo exhibition, and pick up some tips and tricks to taking street photography. (30 Mar, 5pm – 10pm; 31 Mar, 8am – 12pm)
