Sat, 05 Dec 2020 - Sun, 03 Jan 2021
05:00AM - 23:59PM
From Nassim Gate to Tanglin Gate
The Trees of the World display is a collaboration with the community to bring festive joy and cheer to all while raising funds for the Singapore Botanic Gardens. The Trees of the World 2020 edition sees trees in Singapore Botanic Gardens between the Nassim and Tanglin Gates specially adorned in festive lights, lit up from 7 pm to midnight daily.
In the spirit of giving, individuals, corporations, and embassies have donated to the Gardens and decorated tropical trees in the Gardens. Schools, hospitals and non-profit organisations also participated in this project to make each tree unique with a special message of hope and inspiration. Trees of the World 2020 is particularly meaningful as we round up a sombre 2020 and look forward to a brighter, post COVID-19 world from 2021 onwards.
All funds raised go towards the Singapore Botanic Gardens’ Give to the Gardens programme that was launched in 2016. This supports the Gardens’ work as a leading botanical institution and a well-loved place by all in Singapore. With the community's support, the Gardens contributes to the conservation of our local and regional flora, inspires a love for nature and engenders environmental stewardship in our people to help make Singapore more sustainable.
If you have enjoyed the Singapore Botanic Gardens and would like to support our mission, please make a small gift here.
After the event, these trees will be planted in other parts of Singapore, as part of the One Million Trees movement, to enhance nature in the city and create a more liveable Singapore for all.
*All decorations were carried out in accordance with Safe Distancing Measures and participants were encouraged to use reusable or upcycled items.
