Sat, 19 Nov 2022
16:00PM - 17:00PM
Raising awareness and understanding of wildlife is key to allow communities to safely share spaces with wildlife and enjoy the benefits of living close to nature. In this Wildlife Management Webinar Series – International Edition, join scientists from NParks’ Wildlife Management Division as they seek out international subject-matter experts to better understand how other countries manage human-wildlife encounters!
Hear from Dr Giovanna Massei, Europe Director of the Botstiber Institute for Wildlife Fertility Control, based at the University of York (UK), as she shares about human-wild boar conflicts worldwide. This talk will summarise information on wild boar ecology, population dynamics and provide examples of wild boar population trends and impacts worldwide. The talk will also cover management methods, highlight how new technologies might contribute to wild boar management and discuss current and future priorities that can be addressed by applied ecological research, integrated with socio-economic aspects of wild boar management.
This session will be hosted by Mr How Choon Beng, Director of NParks’ Wildlife Management & Outreach team.
