In February's Bazaar in the Garden, join us as we enjoy fun and exciting programmes!
Kick-start your day with us through the fun filled series of children's programmes to learn more about the biodiversity in Jurong Lake Gardens!
Following this, spend your afternoons with us learning from our speakers on growing edibles in your own high-rise apartments and creating floral displays using kitchenware and edibles!
Join us from the comforts of your home and we hope to see you online!
Online Talks and Workshops
Do register for the number of devices you will be using for the session. If there will be more than 1 participant joining the session under 1 device, please indicate the numbers in the remarks when you are registering.
Children’s Storytelling
9.00am – 10.00am
April the caterpillar dreams of having colourful wings when she becomes a butterfly. But what happens when her dreams do not come true?
Join us and listen to the story of the Not-So-Colourful Butterfly and learn how to make a flying butterfly craft!

Jurong Lake Gardens Games (Kahoot - Animal Behaviour)
11.30am – 12.30pm
Join us for a session of fun to learn more about the biodiversity found in the Jurong Lake Gardens!
In this online session, learn more about the interesting behaviours of some animals in Jurong Lake Gardens and play a game of Kahoot to test on what you learnt!
Do note that children will need to turn on their cameras for the session and that 2 devices are recommended to enjoy playing Kahoot.

Edible Rooftop Gardening (Online)

Have you ever wondered what gardening on a rooftop is like? Join Dr. Wilson Wong, Mdm Kamisah Atan and the Community Gardeners of the Jurong Central Zone D Sky garden to learn about growing edible plants on a rooftop! Mdm Kamisah is a Community In Bloom (CIB) Ambassador, and has experience growing everything from fruit trees to radishes. Her community is also highly experienced, and together they have grown a wide range of prize-winning edible plants. Join us in this sharing session to learn how these Community Gardeners overcome environmental challenges like extreme heat and wind shear in their rooftop garden.

Online Gardening Q&A (February)

Have issues growing plants in your garden? Join us in this virtual meeting to get them answered by our in-house horticulturist, Dr Wilson Wong. This session will be run monthly during Bazaar in the Garden.

The Floral Arranger Series - Creative Floral Styling with Kitchenware and Edibles (Online)

Looking for tips on how to craft a DIY floral arrangement by using fresh floral materials from your edible garden? Or sourcing for ideas to repurpose items around your house for a unique display? Join Pearl in this floral arrangement session and explore simple ways to recreate your centrepiece with style and wow your guest!

Biodiversity Tour at Jurong Lake Gardens
Come on down to Jurong Lake Gardens and learn about the rich biodiversity that you can find here! Breathe in the fresh air and listen to the delightful sounds of nature on a free guided walk.

Smell the fragrance of flowers in bloom and take in the sights of the variety of plants in the gardens.
Dress comfortably and wear suitable footwear. Bring along a water bottle, hat and a camera to take lots of photos!
Session 1: 8.00am – 9.00am
Session 2: 8.15am – 9.15am

MOLLY the Mobile Library (February)
Join us as we bring the library closer to you!

We have books for all ages and you can look forward to borrowing and returning books all in the same place.
Do remember to bring your library card and Trace-Together device! Due to Safe Management Measures, we are limiting to 5 persons on board and not more than 15 minutes dwell time. Please note that entry on board the vehicle is via Vaccination-Differentiated Safe Management Measures (VDS).
Event will be held at Wave Plaza near Forest Ramble.

About MOLLY the Mobile Library
As part of the National Library Board’s commitment to promote reading and making books available to all children, MOLLY® the Mobile Library provide access to a large collection of children’s books, along with services like book borrowing and returning, at selected pre-schools, Special Education (SPED) schools, or communities with little access to libraries.
MOLLY® the Mobile Library comprises of one big MOLLY bus and two mini-MOLLY buses, which carry thousands of books and visit special education centres and pre-schools, kindergartens and childcare centres in the Housing and Development Board (HDB) estates.
The latest edition – MOLLY® 3 – is equipped with new features such as a wheelchair lift, a magnetic whiteboard for activity sessions, and customised child-friendly book stations at a convenient height for young readers that allow children to borrow and return books by themselves.
