In July's Bazaar in the Garden (BIG), join us for a day of fun and exciting programmes!
Kick-start your day with us through the fun filled series of children's programmes to learn more about the biodiversity in Jurong Lake Gardens!
Following this, spend your afternoon with us and learn about growing edible plants and have your questions answered by Dr WIlson Wong!
Join us onsite or from the comforts of your home and we hope to see you at BIG.
Online Talks and Workshops

Children’s Storytelling

Join kind and courageous Peach Blossom on her journey through the kingdom!
Find out how she used flowers to make friends with the fearsome Flower Dragon, and make some special daisies of your own to celebrate World Nature Conservation Day.

Join curious Diego as he explores the many attractions in Jurong Lake Gardens.
Meet the biodiversity of Jurong Lake Gardens along the way, and find out how our actions can impact the environment.

I'm a Responsible Pet Owner!

11.00am - 12.00pm
Are you ready to own a pet? Learn more about how to provide basic care and understanding various behaviours of pet animals. You will get to understand the importance of adopting a pet and what you can do to become a responsible pet owner!
In this edition, we will be introducing participants to rabbits. Being one of the more popular types of pets, there is much to learn about these adorable ‘fur-iends’. Participants will have an engaging session to learn about rabbits and meet our pet ambassador, Kristoff, online.

An Easy Start in Edible Gardening (July)
2.00pm – 2.45pm
The growing of edible plants requires commitment, knowledge, space and sunlight. To give novices an easy and rewarding start, the growing of microgreens, which are young edible seedlings of plants, serves as a great way to start. Also, there are some edible plants are easily started via stem-cuttings. Join us in this online talk, where Dr Wilson Wong shares with his participants how one can get started and succeed in his or her first edible crops. Also pick up ideas on how you can use edibles for simple table displays!

Online Gardening Q&A (July)
3.00pm – 3.45pm
Have issues growing plants in your garden? Join us in this virtual meeting to get them answered by our in-house horticulturist, Dr Wilson Wong. This session will be run monthly during Bazaar in the Garden.
Upon successful registration, do send your photos with your questions to JurongLakeGardens@nparks.gov.sg by 20th July 2022, 5pm if you would like Dr Wilson Wong to have a more thorough understanding of your question. You may also choose to ask questions during the live session without sending photos.

Biodiversity Tour at Jurong Lake Gardens
Come on down to Jurong Lake Gardens and learn about the rich biodiversity that you can find here! Breathe in the fresh air and listen to the delightful sounds of nature on a free guided walk.
Smell the fragrance of flowers in bloom and take in the sights of the variety of plants in the gardens.
Dress comfortably and wear suitable footwear. Bring along a water bottle, hat and a camera to take lots of photos!

MOLLY the Mobile Library (July)

Join us as we bring the library closer to you!

Event will be held at Wave Plaza near Forest Ramble.

About MOLLY the Mobile Library
As part of the National Library Board’s commitment to promote reading and making books available to all children, MOLLY® the Mobile Library provide access to a large collection of children’s books, along with services like book borrowing and returning, at selected pre-schools, Special Education (SPED) schools, or communities with little access to libraries.
MOLLY® the Mobile Library comprises of one big MOLLY bus and two mini-MOLLY buses, which carry thousands of books and visit special education centres and pre-schools, kindergartens and childcare centres in the Housing and Development Board (HDB) estates.
The latest edition – MOLLY® 3 – is equipped with new features such as a wheelchair lift, a magnetic whiteboard for activity sessions, and customised child-friendly book stations at a convenient height for young readers that allow children to borrow and return books by themselves.
This event is brought to you through a collaboration between NParks and National Library Board.

GreenFest 2022
GreenFest 2022 is a free public festival centered around the aim to invigorate a community of learning and action for a better and sustainable world. Through GreenFest, GreenSG COLLAB hopes to contribute to the whole-of-society movement for the realisation of the Singapore Green Plan. This year’s tagline and theme is “Impacting our future in Technology and Fashion”.
One of the key features of GreenFest 2022 are two hackathons on the theme of Fashion and Technology, where students and young Singaporeans are challenged to apply their creative talents, technical skills and resourcefulness to develop impactful innovations to address social and environmental issues of today. 50 teams have signed up for the two hackathons and the notable ones will be on public display during the festival, which is happening at PAssionWaVe @ Jurong Lake Gardens on 23 July 2022 (Saturday).
Furthermore, there will be a range of different activities including workshops and talks on sustainability-related topics, exhibits, an Eco-Challenge game, innovative DIY automobile challenge, free marketplace/bazaar and many fun-filled fringe activities suitable for the young and old to participate and learn more about our environment and ways everyone can do their part for sustainability.
