Edible gardens need not look boring. With a well thought out design, careful selection and inclusion of suitable plants, you can create a beautiful garden blooming with colours and textures, and teeming with garden wildlife. In this talk, Dr Wilson Wong will bring you through how you can create an aesthetically pleasing and productive edible garden in the tropics. The sharing will conclude with some learning and reading resources that are available in NLB.

Bazaar in the Garden (BIG)
Bazaar in the Garden is Jurong Lake Garden’s signature monthly event that happens every 4th Saturday of the month! Each edition of BIG features gardening talks and workshops, fun-filled crafts and educational activities for children, as well as guided tours and other interesting gardening-centric programmes.
Time Of Your Life (TOYL)
The Time Of Your Life (TOYL) programme series features informative talks, creative workshops, book clubs, and learning communities for those aged 50 and above. Seniors can expect to stay relevant with these programmes that cover a wide range of topics such as health, personal finance, technology, and the arts.
Dr Wilson Wong is currently a Deputy Director of Operations in Jurong Lake Gardens division of the National Parks Board. He is a specialist in edible horticulture and the resident columnist for Straits Times Root Awakening gardening Q&A column. Wilson is also an adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Food Science and Technology at the National University of Singapore where he teaches undergraduate students on post-harvest food processing. He is also an educator who teaches topics related to gardening and horticulture to both the public as well as the landscaping industry.
