Lights by the Lake 2023 @ Jurong Lake Gardens

As the Mid-Autumn Festival draws near, join us in the festivities at Lights by The Lake 2023, hosted by Jurong Lake Gardens!

Come admire the captivating lantern displays hand-crafted by skilled artisans from China adorning our Gardens and participate in our fun activities.

As part of the celebrations, there is a series of performances by talented homegrown artists every Friday and Saturday, from 16 September to 1 October 2023. we have also curated engaging programmes and activities on weekdays.

Getting to Lights by the Lake

We encourage everyone to do a part for the environment and reduce our carbon footprint by considering public transport options (Cycle, Bus, and MRT) to the Gardens!

MRT

Nearest MRT Station: Lakeside MRT Station

Alight at Lakeside MRT Station and exit at the south entrance of the station. Follow the directional signs to Jurong Lake Gardens

Please note that access from Chinese Garden MRT station is currently closed due to development. Do alight at Lakeside MRT station if you are travelling by MRT.

Bus

Bus Service: 154 & 246

Alight at Bus Stop 21649 (Chinese Garden) or Bus Stop 21651 (Opp Chinese Garden). You may board bus 154 across the road from Lakeside MRT Station and alight at the second stop.

Lantern Displays

Admire the magical lantern displays at the Jurong Lake Gardens, where vibrant scenes illuminate the night. From historical narratives to natural wonders, the captivating displays promise a visual treat for all.

Entrance Arch

The lantern patterns adorning the Entrance Arch was inspired by the beauty of orchids. As the night descends, observe the garden awakening with lanterns that showcase the intricacy of orchids, crafting a tribute to nature's artistry and Singapore's floral heritage.

Wildlife Odyssey

Embark on a Wildlife Odyssey through a lantern display that showcases diverse habitats. Be transported from the mysterious depths of the Underwater World to the vast African Savannah, then to the frozen landscapes of the Ice World and finally, to the lush Southeast Asian Rainforest. This mesmerising display unites the wonders of nature in a luminous celebration of our planet's incredible diversity, fostering appreciation for the intricate tapestry of life across Earth's remarkable ecosystems.

Echoes of the Lion City

Echoes of the Lion City takes you on a captivating lantern-lit journey through Singapore’s rich history and evolution. Witness the city’s transformation across different eras, from its humble beginnings to a City in Nature. Immerse yourself in the nostalgia of each era, depicted through lantern displays that capture the essence of Singapore’s past, present and future, paying homage to Singapore’s hope and enduring spirit.

Explore @ PAssion Wave

Explore the lanterns created by the public during their visit to Jurong Lake Gardens! They are inspired by nature, and now on display at PAssion Wave.

Arts@JLG: Music under the Moonlight 2023 

Prepare to be captivated by our talented local artists and allow their mesmerising melodies to soothe your soul under the stars!

Adopt a Lantern

Were you enchanted by the lantern displays at Lights by the Lake? We're seeking a new home for these lanterns after the festival!

Lanterns from the Entrance Arch, Wildlife Odyssey, and Echoes of the City display are up for adoption from 2 to 11 October. The adoption of these lanterns comes at no cost. However, applicants will need to arrange their own manpower and transportation for lantern collection. Adopted lanterns should not be sold under any circumstances. The adoption process is subject to lantern conditions. Priority will be granted to community organisations, educational institutions, and voluntary welfare organisations.

Interested parties may send an email to JurongLakeGardens@nparks.gov.sg to register for lantern adoption. In your email, include the following details:

·       Organisation / Institution Name (if applicable)

·       Applicant / Authorised Personnel Name

·       Email Address

·       Contact Number

·       Purpose for Adoption

·       Specify lantern type and quantity

Deadline for Submissions: 27 September 2023

Successful applicants will receive email notifications within approximately 3 working days.
