iSeahorse Singapore Project

Objective: To quantify the seahorse population on our reefs and intertidal shores for conservation management purposes

When it started: October 2013

Location: Various locations in the islands south off Singapore and intertidal areas such as Changi Beach, Cyrene Reef, Tanah Merah, Pulau Ubin

Partner: Project Seahorse (www.projectseahorse.org)

Approach: The iSeahorse project aims to harness the power of ‘citizen scientists’ to improve our understanding of seahorse distribution in the region so that they are protected from overfishing and other threats. You can contribute to the iSeahorse project too. Simply create a profile on the iSeahorse portal or contact us at jeffrey_low@nparks.gov.sg
