I’m POSSIBLE in Nature@SG: Engaging Students with Special Needs in Biodiversity Programmes


This sharing session provides some insights on how to enhance the participation of students with moderate intellectual disabilities in nature-related activities and biodiversity programmes.

Jenny Lim, a former teacher at the Movement for the Intellectually Disabled of Singapore (MINDS) for more than 30 years, has been a passionate advocate for local biodiversity in school. Find out more from her on how accommodation and adaptation strategies help meet the learning needs from these I’mPossible students, and how they have benefitted from learning with nature.

Different Shades of Green: The Story of Our Native Forests

 

Did you know our tiny nation hosts a wide range of different vegetation types, each with distinct characteristics? Collectively, these green spaces provide homes and connectivity for our local biodiversity as well as varied leisure spaces for us to enjoy.


Join Dr Chong Kwek Yan from the Singapore Botanic Gardens and Dr Norman Lim from the National Institute of Education, Nanyang Technological University as they explore the different types of forest habitats in Singapore and dive into the ecological principles of conserving them!
