Machang Pulasan A large tree that can grow up to more than 40m in height. Crown is dense and dome-shaped. Trunk is massive. Leaves are closely spirally arranged, and leaf blades are very stiff and leathery. Native to Singapore. According to the Singapore Red Data Book (2008, 2nd Edition), this species is critically endangered in the wild population in Singapore (Category D). In this category, there are fewer than 50 mature individuals, OR more than 50 mature individuals but less than 250, with some evidence of decline or fragmentation.
