Eco-learning Journey in HortPark (For Schools)

At HortPark, we offer a series of nature-related workshops that caters to different levels of young nature explorers. Conducted in a garden setting, these workshops aim to instil a sense of nature stewardship in the younger generation through hands-on experience and close interaction with nature.
- Pre-school (K1-K2): Nature Exploration at the Pitter Patter Potter Garden (Basic)
- Lower Primary (P1-P3): Nature Exploration at the Pitter Patter Potter Garden (Advanced)
Worksheets and materials will be provided for all workshops. In the event of wet weather, an indoor activity will be conducted.

- The list of eco-learning journey programmes is funded by the Garden City Fund for EDCA registered pre-schools and MOE schools.
Nature Exploration at the Pitter Patter Potter Garden
Embark on a nature exploration journey at the Pitter Patter Potter Garden, a ‘Classroom in a Garden’ specially designed to complement schools’ curricular. In this workshop, children will develop a sense of wonder and respect for nature while deepening their knowledge about plants.


Basic Workshop
Discover the world of diverse plant forms and colours, the variety of fruits and seeds, plant life cycle and the animals that live in the garden.

Advanced Workshop
Learn about the plant life cycle, seed dispersal and the different ways that plants multiply. Observe the interactions between plants and animals and gain appreciation of biodiversity in a garden habitat.

Teachers' Package - Nature Exploration at the Pitter Patter Potter Garden
Schools that are unable to join the learning journey programme or who wish to teach about plants and garden life during classroom lessons may request for our Pitter Patter Potter teacher's package. The package include:
- Virtual Tour video of the Pitter Patter Potter Garden
- Deck of Learning Slides (Topics: Plant Forms, Plant Colours, Fruits and Seed Variety (Basic), Seed Dispersal (Advanced), Garden Animals, Caring for Nature)
To request for the package, teachers may write to nparks_hortpark@nparks.gov.sg with their request, name of school and level of students (Basic: K1-K2, Advanced: P1-P3).
