Yishun Arboretum
Visitors to Yishun Park can learn more about a unique family of rainforest trees with Singapore's first Dipterocarp Arboretum planted there.
The primary forests of Singapore consist mostly of trees in the family Dipterocarpaceae - the Dipterocarps dominate the rainforests of Southeast Asia.
The Yishun Arboretum, which opened in 2008 with the support of Banyan Tree Holdings Ltd, is a living gallery of these trees and is designed for research and education. It contains over 800 trees, representing eight genera and 73 species.
