Programmes at Jurong Lake Gardens

Volunteer Engagement Session

Programmes at Jurong Lake Gardens, 18th August 2018

Jurong Lake Gardens conducted our sessional plant guided walk, brick art workshop as well as carried out an engagement with cyclists and volunteers of our gardens last Saturday (18 August 2018).

Students of the APSN Delta Senior School hosted an informative plant guided tour for visitors of Jurong Lake Gardens. Our plant-loving participants had a great time learning about the plants in the gardens, many of them similar to those they grow at home. They picked up many horticulture tips and had a better understanding of the plants in this guided walk. The success of the guided tour is demonstrated by our participants’ interest in starting their own gardens.

Participants of our third garden-themed Brick Art Workshop had an amazing time using their imagination to build fascinating creations with plastic bricks. Mr Lee, the resident brick art expert from Taman Jurong Brick Art Interest Group, guided our young participants through the basics of brick-art to form unique shapes from various brick pieces. Some of the masterpieces included a brown bear in the bamboo forest, a patio with a fruit basket and a flower garden.

Cyclists of all ages and proficiency came to hear about the cycling routes at the upcoming Jurong Lake Gardens. They were also introduced to exciting cyclist-centric programmes that will be conducted in the gardens.

In our get-together session with volunteers, we shared about the developments in Jurong Lake Gardens and the various volunteer opportunities available in the gardens.
