Beyond being low in calories and sugar content, the Pomegranate (Punica granatum) has a long list of other beneficial properties. It has rich nutritional content, powerful antioxidant properties, and is believed to help reduce the risk of cancer, lower cholesterol levels and improve blood circulation and skin conditions. This list is far from exhaustive, as researchers continuously discover more and more positive health effects after consuming pomegranates regularly. No wonder some people refer to it as a “super fruit”!
