Insta-worthy Spots on the Coast-to-Coast Trail

Get from Punggol to Jurong in a snap? It is now possible with the Coast-to-Coast Trail! Whether you cycle or walk, we pick some of the most insta-worthy spots along this 36 km trail. Simply the perfect spots to show off your #OOTD, document your yoga or exercise experience, or go for an adventure!

1. Coney Island Park

The first spot we recommend is the rustic and photogenic Coney Island park. Snap a shot with the iconic gates to this area of greenery.

Moana feels? Much like the animated flick from a couple of years back, there are plenty of look out spots here to see the line where the sky meets the sea. Rest on a log at one of the beaches in Coney Island Park and take in the view.

The promenade area provides a different scene in Coney Island Park, whether you take a photo from top down or how about trying it bottom up?

Note that Coney Island Park is open from 7 am to 7 pm only, so do time your visit accordingly.

2. Punggol Waterway Park

Travelling southwards, the park connectors will bring you to Punggol Waterway Park, with beautiful scenery framed by the serene waters.

You can also find lesser known photo areas framed by our beautiful trees. Psst! They make great shady spots to have a rest as well!

3. Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park

Continue on your journey to a popular park in our heartlands. Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park provides many beautiful photo spots. The stepping stones across the pretty meandering river in the park is one of the most popular places for a photograph.

4. MacRitchie Reservoir Park

Our next stop is just a stone’s throw away from Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park. The Trail brings you past the MacRitchie Reservoir Park that borders the Central Catchment Nature Reserve, with ideal spots to look pensively over the water. Popular spots are the Zig-Zag Bridge and the Promenade.

If you are looking for an insta-worthy spot to document your yogi journey, MacRitchie Reservoir Park offers a great location, the deck areas with shallow ponds.

Take a stroll on the boardwalks of the Central Catchment Nature Reserve while you are here. My tip? The Prunus Boardwalk is an easy walk that offers lesser known scenic photogenic spots. Just be sure not to block the walkway and share this space with other visitors.

5. Rail Corridor

The Trail now takes you past the King Albert Park area, where you can enter the Rail Corridor. This brings you to the ever popular remnants of the railway tracks that run across Dunearn Road, a favourite amongst couples for their pre-wedding photos.

Going northwards towards Hindhede Drive, your photos will be framed by the lovely green corridor, a much valued area in urban Singapore.

Right above Hindhede Drive is another stretch of railway tracks that have been kept as they are. This is usually a less crowded area, so you can easily get your railway track photos here without strangers accidentally photo-bombing your shots.

7. Jurong Lake Gardens

Your journey will conclude in Jurong. Get rewarded for completing the trail at Jurong Lake Gardens. The first redeveloped part of Jurong Lake Garden will open in late April, offering beautiful views with a row of Rosy Trumpet Trees (Tabebuia rosea). When the trees are mass flowering, it looks like it is Sakura season in Singapore!

As Singapore’s new national gardens in the heartlands, Jurong Lake Gardens will also have a host of beautiful photo spots, such as a freshwater swamp forest, a play area that encourages children to play as if they are a part of the forest, and a series of streams, just waiting to be discovered.
