Highlights

Back in May, we launched a guidebook on the Heritage Trees in the Singapore Botanic Gardens. Often when we think of historical artefacts, we think of man-made objects like buildings and tools. In the process, we may forget that the history of Singapore could be told, too, through nature. Several of the trees in the Gardens probably predate its establishment in the 19th century, and many have interesting stories to share on our country's early history. For a hint of what tales these trees tell, do read this issue's Main Feature, or even better, visit them in the Gardens.

Making history would be the upcoming Singapore Garden Festival that takes place from 16 to 24 August at Gardens by the Bay. It’s the first time the event will be held indoors and outdoors, as well as at a new location. Look out for spectacular floral and landscape displays and arrangements, as well as great buys from the Marketplace. More information is available on Facebook. Click here for ticketing information.

So, see you there!
