Did you know that dragonflies are among one of the most ancient winged insects in the world? With body structures that have remain largely unchanged for millions of years, these fighter pilots of the insect world help to keep the population of insect pests in check, and are an indicator of wetland health.

Learn how the plants and animals have adapted to this wetland habitat, discover the differences between dragonflies and damselflies, and challenge yourself to identify the many species of ‘dragons’ and ‘damsels’ that can be found here!

Learn some fascinating facts about our native wild mammals--where they live, what they eat and how they protect themselves from predators. In this workshop, participants will go on a guided tour, make a wall-hanging mammal craft and pot their very own dish garden.

The Adventures of Sara the Botanicosaurus (Mandarin): 小恐龙觅食记 (A Guided Tour)

Sara the Botanicosaurus is hungry! Mummy promised to cook up a good lunch if Sara brings home some fruits and vegetables from the Farm and Orchard at the Jacob Ballas Children’s Garden. However, Sara is not very sure what the produce looks like. Come and help Sara find the ingredients for her lunch!

This programme will be conducted in Mandarin.

妈妈让小恐龙从儿童公园的田园带一些食材回家。但是小恐龙到了田园后发现,它不知道妈妈所要的蔬菜与水果长得什么样?眼看午饭时间快到了,小朋友们能不能来帮帮小恐龙辨认这些蔬菜与水果呢?

Ever heard a "hoot" in the night? Or a "chonk chonk chonk" coming from the fields? These calls could have been from nocturnal creatures! The Singapore Botanic Gardens is home to night birds such as the Spotted Wood Owl, Collared Scops Owl, Large-tailed Night Jar and the Red-legged Crake. Join us as we find out more about these mysterious birds on a guided tour, make an owl craft and pot your very own dish garden.
