“Celebrating Wildlife” Series: Weird & Wonderful Plants
(A Biodiversity Investigative Workshop)


Join us and learn about plants with strange qualities like the Venus Fly-trap and Pitcher plant! Discover how some plants have adapted to eating bugs while others possess swollen bodies with cavities for ants to nest in. In this workshop, participants will go on a guided tour, come up close and personal with interesting plant specimens, exercise their creativity with a plant art craft and create their very own dish garden.

“Celebrating Wildlife” Series: A Wild Night in the Gardens
(A Biodiversity Investigative Workshop)


Come and explore the Singapore Botanic Gardens at night and discover our nocturnal animals, such as the Red-legged Crake, Common House Bat and Four-lined Tree Frog! Learn about the fascinating adaptations these creatures have to live in the dark. Go on a guided tour and participate in a craft making activity. Participants will also bring home a potted plant.

Dragons & Damsels in Our Wetland 
(A Guided Tour) 

 
Did you know that dragonflies are among one of the most ancient winged insects in the world? With body structures that have remained largely unchanged for millions of years, these fighter pilots of the insect world help to keep the population of insect pests in check, and are an indicator of wetland health. 

Learn how the plants and animals have adapted to this wetland habitat, discover the differences between dragonflies and damselflies, and challenge yourself to identify the many species of ‘dragons’ and ‘damsels’ that can be found here!
