Educational Talks

We offer introductory talks which aim to provide school children and their accompanying teachers with an idea of what can be expected of the various attractions within Singapore Botanic Gardens. These interactive talks also serve as an orientation for our young visitors, who may be visiting the Gardens for the first time.

Singapore Botanic Gardens: Our Heritage Assembly Talk
Established in 1859 by an agri-horticultural society, the Singapore Botanic Gardens has been an important part of the cultural and economic history of Singapore. As the birth place of the region’s rubber and orchid industries, the Gardens played an integral role in the development of the economy of the Southeast Asian region. Our aim is for students to be enthralled and enriched by the rich heritage of the Gardens, following its inscription as Singapore’s first UNESCO World Heritage Site.
