Updated Vaccination-Differentiated Safe Management Measures effective 1 Jan 2022.
Vaccination-Differentiated Safe Management Measures (VDS) has been implemented for entry into the following Gardens' premises since 13 October 2021:
- National Orchid Garden
- Botanical Art Gallery
- Centre for Ethnobotany
- Forest Discovery Centre @ OCBC Arboretum
- SBG Heritage Museum & CDL Green Gallery
- Seed Bank
- Library of Botany & Horticulture
Please take note of the following Vaccination-Differentiated Safe Management Measures (VDS) where only the following categories of individuals can be allowed entry:
- Individuals who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19
- Individuals who have recovered from COVID-19
- Individuals who are medically ineligible for COVID-19 vaccines
- Unvaccinated children, aged 12 years and below, may be included in the group of 5. If there is more than one child aged 12 years and below in the group of 5 persons, all children must be from the same household
During this period, the National Orchid Garden and Jacob Ballas Children's Garden are operating with limited capacity and we seek your understanding on the following when the capacity has been reached:
- You may be required to wait till there is availability. Please expect a waiting time of about 1 to 2 hours.
- The last entry time may be as early as 4pm instead of the regular last admission timing as we are unable to accept more visitors.
Advisories pertaining to COVID-19

In line with the Multi-Ministry Taskforce's latest advisory, please see below updates for our gardens.
Social and recreational activities
Social and recreational activities must be kept to a group size of up to 5 persons. You are required to wear a mask, except when engaging in strenuous exercises or consuming food, drink or medication. Please observe a safe distance of at least one metre from other visitors.
The F&B outlets in our gardens and parks are open for take-away and dine-in for up to 5 fully vaccinated persons, subject to the latest safe management measures by Enterprise Singapore.
Please wear a mask
You are required to wear a mask at all times, except when engaging in strenuous exercises (e.g. brisk walking, running, jogging) or consuming food, drink or medication.
Sports and outdoor exercise activities
If you are engaging in sports and physical exercises, please do so individually or up to groups of 5 persons maximum, and observe a safe distance of at least 2 metres between individuals.
Organised outdoor exercise classes can be conducted in groups of 5, up to a maximum of the approved venue capacity, with no inter-mingling between groups. This is irrespective of vaccination or test status.
Instructors/trainers of all organised outdoor exercise classes (with more than 5 persons including participants and instructor/trainer) will need to register the class with SportSG and submit an application at least 14 days in advance, so as to ensure there is ample space in our parks and gardens for safe distancing. Instructors/trainers must ensure that the necessary safe management measures are being put in place.
Wedding solemnisations and receptions
Marriage solemnisations may continue in selected function spaces in our parks/gardens, in groups of 5 persons. for up to 1,000 persons with Vaccination-Differentiated Safe Management Measures (VDS) requirement, or up to 50 persons without VDS requirement.
Wedding receptions can continue, with up to 250 persons with VDS requirement, with a group size of up to 5 persons. This includes the couple, but excludes the solemnised and vendors, subject to safe management measures and the venue's capacity. More info here.
Filming and Photography
For filming and photography in our gardens, please submit an online application here. Requests will be assessed based on factors such as the location, proposed filming hours, and whether safe-distancing measures can be put in place. Production companies should also comply with the guidelines by the Infocomms Media Development Authority.
Please observe the advisories which have been put up in our green spaces, and check in with the SafeEntry QR code on the TraceTogether app, or bring your TraceTogether token if you are visiting these places. Some of our carparks and facilities such as shelters hardcourts, and lawns could be closed temporarily to ensure ample space for safe distancing.
