Coffee Table Book
Singapore Garden Photographer of the Year
Award winning photography celebrating Singapore’s City in a Garden
Specially produced to commemorate Singapore’s Golden Jubilee, the ‘Singapore Garden Photographer of the Year’ coffee table book brings together prize-winning photo entries from three photography competitions organised by NParks to-date: The ‘Singapore Garden Photography of the Year’ photo competition (2015), the ‘City in a Garden’ photo competition (2012), and the ‘BiodiverCity’ photo competition (2010). These competitions have proven extremely popular among local shutterbugs, with no less than 11,328 submissions from 2,249 photographers for this year’s edition.
All pictures included in the book are photographed in Singapore, and showcase the beauty of our greenery, parks, streetscapes, and rich biodiversity in our City in a Garden through the lens of the community. Besides pictures by participants, judges, staff and volunteers, the book also features a special photo contribution by Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong – a close-up shot of a Slender Duskdarter Dragonfly (Foreword, page 2-3). In addition, the book offers photography tips for budding photographers and photo enthusiasts, as well as snippets of information on Singapore’s parks, gardens, nature reserves and the biodiversity found within.
The ‘Singapore Garden Photographer of the Year’ coffee table book is available at $32 (inclusive of GST) from the Garden Shop at the Singapore Botanic Gardens from 21 November 2015. The book will be available for purchase at major bookstores by December 2015.
The Gold sponsors of the book are Jardine Cycle and Carriage, Kwang Im Tong Hood Cho Temple, Lee Foundation and Woh Hup Private Limited; and the Bronze sponsor is Kingsmen.
