SkillsFuture Credit

SkillsFuture is a national movement to provide Singaporeans with the opportunities to develop their fullest potential throughout life, regardless of their starting points. Through this movement, the skills, passion and contributions of every individual will drive Singapore's next phase of development towards an advanced economy and inclusive society.

All Singaporeans aged 25 and above will receive an opening credit of S$500 from January 2016. Currently, all WSQ courses offered by CUGE are eligible under this scheme. The credits can be used on top of existing course fee subsidies provided by the Government.

Workfare Training Support (WTS) Scheme – For Self-Sponsored Participants 

If you are a 35 years old and above Singaporean and earning not more than $2,000 per month, you can benefit from the Workfare Training Support (WTS) scheme. WTS encourages you to attend training to upgrade your skills and improve your chances of being employed.

You can benefit from 95% course fee funding when you sign up for any of the Singapore Workforce Skills Qualifications (WSQ) courses. All WSQ courses currently offered by CUGE are supported under the WTS scheme.

To qualify, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Singapore citizen;
  • Aged 35 years and above on 31 December of the work year (aged 13 years and above for persons with disabilities);
  • Earn an average gross monthly income of not more $2,000 for the months worked;
  • Have signed up for any WTS qualifying courses.

To successfully claim for Course Fee Funding, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Be employed;
  • Achieve at least 75% course attendance;
  • Take all assessments; and
  • Pass the course.

SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG) Funding for Certifiable Courses - For Employer-Based Training

Course Fee Subsidies and Absentee Payroll Funding are available for employers sponsoring their employees who are either a Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident to attend Professional Certification Programme offered by CUGE. CUGE is an SSG-appointed Continuing Education & Training (CET) Centre .

Currently, the eligible courses are:

  • Certificate in Therapeutic Horticulture
  • Certified Playground Safety Inspector
  • Tree Risk Assessment Qualification

1. Course Fee Subsidies

2. Absentee Payroll Funding

SSG also funds your employee’s salary while he/she is undergoing training. You may apply for absentee payroll funding at the following rates via SkillsConnect in Table 3:
