OVERVIEW

Formative pruning is the process of shaping a tree when it is young. Every variety has a different natural growth which may result in forms that are not ideal for the site. Formative pruning aims to shape young trees into desired forms for efficient long term maintenance when they mature. Participants will learn about various pruning strategies to be applied on young trees through lectures and hands-on practice.
