Arboriculture worker and technician

This course may be taken by entry-level workers without prior experience in chainsaw operation. CUGE does not offer chainsaw operation course at Level 1; the Level 2 course covers a wider range of knowledge and skills in the subject matter.

• Recognise hazards and risks associated with chainsaw operations
• Select and use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) appropriate for the work
• Understand the different procedures and guidelines for common types of chainsaws used in the industry
• Perform pre-operational checks and calibration of chainsaws 
• Set up safe work area to minimise worksite risks and hazards 
• Operate chainsaw on ground to saw tree trunks using required techniques 
• Implement processes to minimise negative environmental impacts associated with chainsaw operations
• Perform post-operational checks and maintenance

This is a bundled course that replaces the following discontinued WSQ courses: 

• LS-MT-102E-1: Chainsaw Safety and Maintenance, and  
• LS-MT-103E-1: Operate Chainsaws Safely for Ground Work

Singapore Citizens and PRs: $240.00 (nett after 70% SSG Grant, inclusive of GST)

• Chainsaw Operation and Maintenance (Level 2) or
• Chainsaw Safety and Maintenance and Operate Chainsaws Safely for Ground Work

• Refresher and assessment of skills required for safe chainsaw operations
• Upon passing the assessment, participant will receive a “Chainsaw Operator” card with a 2-year validity period.

This course replaces the discontinued non-WSQ course “Chainsaw Safety and Maintenance & Operate Chainsaws Safely for Ground Work (Re-Certification)”.
