Description

Size Wingspan: 20 - 24 mm
Description The Lesser Dart's wings are dark brown above, with bright orange-yellow markings. The underside is black, with the wings marked as above. The costal half of the forewing and the hindwing is heavily dusted with yellowish scales.

Ecology, Habitat & Location

Ecological Notes It has a rapid darting flight, often stopping to sunbathe with the forewings held open at an angle, and the hindwings opened flat.
