Description

Description Skin thin with small non-overlapping scales. Eyes large and without eyelids. Digits expanded into adhesive pads. Body mottled with brown, grey, white and black. A wide flap of skin along the sides, limbs and neck; tail with a fringe of lappets on the sides, ending in a large flap at the tip.

Ecology, Habitat & Location

Ecological Notes Inhabits forest, living on trees where it is well-camouflaged against the bark. This nocturnal animal feeds on insects and is capable of making glides over short distances with the large flaps of skin on its sides.

Distribution In Singapore, known only from Pulau Tekong where it was first discovered in 2002. Occurs in the Malay Peninsula, Sumatra, Borneo and Java.
