| Description | Small fish with patchy pattern of dark and light brown. Skin rough and covered with minute spiny growths. Four pairs of relatively short, whitish barbels. |

| Ecological Notes | Fast-flowing, well shaded swamp-forest streams with acidic waters and dense growths of submerged vegetation. This secretive, benthic species feeds on minute invertebrates and uses its dexterous and strong pelvic fins to move about. |
