Ecological Notes P. lygeana appears to be a forest inhabitant.

Distribution This species has been recorded in Indonesia (Sumatra and Java) by van Hasselt (1882) and Workman (1896). It is very rare in Singapore and does not appear outside Bukit Timah Hill. Nevertheless, this spider is sporadically common in primary and secondary forests in Malaysia and Brunei.
