| Taxonomic Group: | Invertebrates |

Name
Ecology, Habitat & Location
| Ecological Notes | Presumed like its entire group to be a soil burrower, as far as known confined to primary forest. |
|---|---|
| Habitats | Forest, Terrestrial |
| Distribution | Known originally from Singaproe and until recently only from the type specimen collected by Ida Pfeiffer and preserved in the Vienna museum. Since then, a second specimen was collected in January 1978, at the foot of a small tree on Bukit Timah Hill (D. H. Murphy). An immature has also been seen in Bukit Timah in rotten wood just fallen from a high tree. |

Conservation
| Trends & Threats | Habitat degradation. |
|---|---|
| Scientific Interest & Potential Value | At the time he described it, Saussure was in some doubt whether this might be only a variety of the relatively common species, G. hirsuta Burm. It is however a quite distinct species. |
| Conservation Notes | The continuing conservation of the intact forests is the only effective means of conserving this species. Prevention of poaching, and avoidance of chemical use would supplement this. |
