Description

Description This is one of the smallest damselfly in Singapore. It is a confusing species to identify due to colour changes with maturity. A mature male is dark with white thorax. Immature males have greenish thorax and an orange abdomen tip. Mature females are in dull olive colour while immatures are bright red.

Ecology, Habitat & Location

Ecological Notes It is common and can be spotted along the water edge and just above the grass-line. A keen eye is necessary to spot this damselfly whose wings are only about 10mm in length. It occurs in most of our parks.
