Description | Very similar as Common Greenshank, separated by having thick, curve up bill, leg relatively short and yellow in color. In flight, legs project a little beyond tail. Breeding: head, neck, breast blackish brown and heavily spotted. Non-breeding: head, neck washed grey with fine streaks. Look paler than Common Greenshank. |

Distribution | Breeds in Sakhalin Island and West Okhotsk Sea; winters in NE India, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Thailand, Malaysia and Sumatra. Globally endangered. Rare winter visitor to Singapore. Two individuals were recorded for the first time in Sungei Buloh in November 2008. |
