Description

Description Head relatively small. Body squat with long and muscular hind limbs, and fully webbed feet. Dorsal surface yellow or brown, with some individuals having a white or orange stripe down the middle of their back. Its call, which sounds like a rubbery "ek-ek-ek" can be heard in the evening.

Ecology, Habitat & Location

Ecological Notes Nocturnal, largely aquatic, feets on insects. Often seen immersed in shallow water with its head and eyes above the surface. Frequently seen in swampy areas, forest streams, and puddles.
Habitats Freshwater Swamp Forest
Distribution  In Singapore, found in the Central Nature Reserves, Western Catchment Area, and Pulau Tekong. occurs in the Malay Peninsula, Borneo, Sumatra, and Java.
