Description and Ethnobotany

Growth Form It is a large, tufted shrub.
Foliage Each shoot has 2-3 leaves, leaf blades of 35 - 55 cm long, glaucous on the underside of leaves; leaf-stalk between 0.7-1 m long and erect.
Flowers Inflorescence is spike-like, measures 10-15 cm long on 15-22 cm long stalk, bracts whitish, each bract has 4-5 pairs of smaller white fragrant flowers.
Fruit Capsule, yellow-brown, oblong shaped, 2-2.5 cm long.
