Description and Ethnobotany

Growth Form An annual or short-lived biennial, it can grow up to 70cm tall and has an erect growth form. 
Foliage The leaves are green and lanceolate in shape and are arranged in opposite pairs along the stem. 
Flowers The bisexual flowers are held in terminal clusters and come in many colours ranging from red, pink and white. The flowers consist of 5 petals with dentate margins.
