Flowers Large, funnel-shaped flowers are composed of 2 rows of oblong petals with sharply pointed tips.
Similar This species is similar to Astrophytum asterias, but the former has thinner, more distinct ribs, while the latter has flattened ribs with little space between adjacent ribs.
Cultivation Most Echinopsis species do not flower in Singapore, but this species does. Exposure to full sun will cause the stem to turn yellow.
