Description and Ethnobotany

Growth Form Sub-erect fern with thick and densely scaly rhizome.
Foliage Fern blade bipinnatifid to bipinnate at base, measuring up to 1 - 1.5 m long and 40 - 70 cm wide, stipes measuring about 60 - 80 cm long.
Reproductive Parts - non-flowering plant Sori small and scattered irregularly on the underside of frond.
Etymology Species irregularis means "with irregularly sized parts".
