Description and Ethnobotany

Growth Form A slender, herbaceous climber. It has twining growth form. 
Foliage The leaves are alternately arranged and are triangular-ovate and peltate in shape and are covered with hairs. 
Stems The stem is slender and covered with hairs. 
Flowers The female flowers are borne in lax clusters with glabrous or sub-glabrous carpels. 
Ethnobotanical Uses Medicinal: The raw or boiled tuber is used by the Semelai people to treat kidney problems and constipation. A decoction of the roots is also used in local medicine in Peninsular Malaysia against fever and piles and is given to women after delivery
