Description and Ethnobotany

Growth Form A tree growing to about 8 m tall
Trunk Its bark is grey-green to brown; scaly irregular pieces; new bark pale; inner bark is dark pale greenish-white; pink wood.
Foliage Leaves simple; alternate; glaucous on the underside; younger leaves are pale-green twigs and petioles are hairy and brown.
Flowers Inflorescence axillary, cluster. Male flowers: 5 minute petals, 5 valvate sepals, cup-shaped, 5 stamens. Female flowers: 5 minute petals, 5 valvate sepals, ovary enclosed in disk, 3 styles.
Fruit 2-4 lobed, 2 cocci, each coccus has 2 seeds.
