WSQ Courses for Technicians (Level 2)
The Technician in the landscape industry is required to carry out defined work tasks with some independence and be able to react to changes in the work contexts by adjusting the application of skills.
The Arboriculture Technician performs arboriculture implementation and maintenance tasks that involve a combination of manual work and the use of specialised tools, equipment and automation, such as chainsaws. He/she may be required to work at heights, which may include the climbing of trees.
The Landscape Technician in the Horticulture and Turf Maintenance sub-sector performs maintenance tasks, using chemicals, tools and equipment independently, for the upkeep of hardscape and softscape at a landscape site.
The Nursery Technician supports nursery production and business
requirements. He/she performs plant propagation and related production activities, as well as plant care management tasks to ensure the health of planted stock. He/she may also support plant inventory management, nursery display, nursery sales and fulfilment activities and general housekeeping of the nursery premises.
