| Description | The Common Caerulean is a bright metallic blue on the upperside with buff-grey undersides and white striae. The female has a broad black border on the upperside and is almost white. Like most of the species in the genus, the Common Caerulean has a white-tipped tail at vein 2 on the hindwing, and an orange-crowned eyespot on the underside hindwing. |
