Description

Size 23 cm
Description Medium size, black bill, predominantly greenish often with tail steamers. Perches on the top branches of trees.

Ecology, Habitat & Location

Habitats Forest, Mangroves, Parks & Gardens
Distribution Breeds in South & East Africa, India, South China to South-east Asia, and south to North Peninsular Malaysia. From Sep to Feb, it is a common bird at Sungei Buloh. Peak numbers in Sep to Nov. Typically in small numbers perched on exposed branches on the tops of tall trees or in flight. The bee-eater is widespread throughout Singapore during the winter months.
