Description

Size 23 cm
Description Head barely distinct from cylindrical body. Snout pointed, tail short. Iridescent black body, with smooth scales on the dorsal surface. Some individuals may have a pale yellow collar and two yellow spots on the neck.

Ecological Notes Nocturnal; terrestrial or fossorial. Feeds on insects.

Distribution In Singapore, it is found mainly in the Central Nature Reserves and Pulau Tekong. Distributed in the Malay Peninsula, Sumatra, Borneo, and Sulawesi.
