Description

Description Body covered in shiny strongly keeled, overlapping scales; symmetrical arrangement of large scales on top of the head. Body olive brown above with a series of irregular and narrow black bands and white spots. Hatchlings with black and yellowish bands over the back, and tail yellow with narrow black bands.

Ecology, Habitat & Location

Ecological Notes Diurnal and arboreal. Feeds on small invertebrates. Gives birth to live young.
Habitats Forest, Terrestrial
Distribution Occurs in the Central Nature Reserves. First recorded in Singapore in 1998.
Nature Reserves Bukit Timah Nature Reserve, Central Catchment Nature Reserve
