| Others - Plant Morphology | Herbaceous ornamental shrub, up to 1.8m height when planted in ground. Colourful leaves marbled with irregular white margins and milky or grey-green blotches along mid-rib. Flowers reddish-purple, tubular with 2 lips.Suitable for brightening up borders, container planters and silver-themed gardens. Propagate by stem cuttings.Genus name 'Graptophyllum' means 'to write' and 'leaf', a reference to the markings on leaves. Species epithet 'pictum' means 'painted' or 'brightly coloured', again referring to the variegated leaves. |
