Growth Form An epiphyte, it has a rosette growth form and can grow up to 25 cm tall. 
Foliage The leaves are arranged in a spiral and are recurving and sub-erect, can grow up to 35cm in length. The leaf base has red striations. 
Flowers The flowers are borne on an elliptic to broadly acute inflorescence and have conspicuous pink or red bracts. The flowers are 20 to 25mm long and are purple in colour.
