Description and Ethnobotany

Growth Form A shrub or small tree grows up to 12 m tall.
Foliage Leaves are arranged alternately, elliptical to oblong. 
Flowers Flowers are yellow, measuring about 3 cm in diameter.
Fruit Fruits grow about 1 cm long, black when ripe.
Habitat In deciduous forests up to 1400 m altitude.
Ethnobotanical Uses Medicinal: The root can be used in treatment for lymphatic disorders. 
Cut - Dried Flower: The cut flowers are widely used for decoration during New Year festivities.
