Description and Ethnobotany

Growth Form A grass-like terrestrial bromeliad.
Foliage Leaves are soft and arching. Upperside of the leaflet (adaxial surface) is medium-green and the underside (abaxial surface) is burgundy-red.
Flowers Flower spike is long and the flowers are bright red in color. 
Cultivation This bromeliad prefers a shaded location with bright morning sun and filtered afternoon sun.
