Description and Ethnobotany

Growth Form An epiphyte, it has a sympodial growth form. 
Foliage The pseudo-bulbs are slender and branching and are erect. The young pseudo-bulbs bear linear-lanceolate leaves.  
Flowers The flowers measure about 1.9cm long and are borne on the leafless pseudo-bulbs on short, axillary racemes. The sepals and petals are bright orange with a yellow margin along the outer edges. The flower lip is bring orange and folds up at the apex near the anther and the side of the column, giving the flower a 'closed' look. 
Habitat It can be found growing on trees in montane forests at altitudes above 2000m.
