| Description | This butterfly has a striking pattern of black veins and rectangular spots, giving it an almost checkered appearance. Unlike its close relative, the Chequered Lancer (Plastingia naga), which has a white background, the ground colour of this species is a deep yellow. At a glance, it could be mistaken for the Chequered Lancer (Plastingia naga) or the Yellow Vein Lancer (Pyroneura latoia latoia). The abdomen is striped in black and yellow above. |
